Sand Castle Contest: Cannon Beach, Oregon

Headed out to Cannon Beach for the weekend to see the Sand Castle Contest. Our first time in person to the contest. Big crowds, they estimated over 4k people attended.

These kids earned our respect they were working for hours, never quite sure what they were building but their determination was unmatched. They were working long after all the judging was completed.

They can create some great sculptures in a few hours.

We stayed at the Cannon Beach RV Resort easy 10-15 min walk to haystack rock. The resort had nice mature trees/landscape to give a nice atmosphere. Older clubhouse and pool/spa and restrooms but they keep them clean. Nice water pressure in the showers with lasting hot water:) Wifi for devices but not for streaming.

A visit to Toms Fish & Chips in town for late lunch hit the spot. Its on the North side of town. They have s small Deli style store but reasonable prices and tasty fish. Lightly breaded so you can taste the fish, a good clam chowder and beer!

Drove down to Manzanita for breakfast at Bread and Ocean. Had an excellent waffle breakfast sandwich. Cute town nice beaches with easy access.
