Fishing Report: Springer Fishing Mar 16th

Went out for first spring chinook fishing trip on Willamette River. My friend Jeff and I launched from Willlamette Park at about 7:00 a.m. We fished four rods from here down to the head of the Multnomah Channel, focusing on three different areas we like. Finished at about 1:30 p.m.

We did not have any action, but it was a beautiful day. Back at the ramp the fish checker had zero fish for twenty five boats. I will be waiting another week before trying again. Did see a large cruise ship getting worked on in Swan Island boat dock, the size of these ships is quite impressive.

i am hoping the springer fishing picks up or ocean conditions improve in the near future. Would love to have next trip be out of Garibaldi for some ling cod fishing.
