News: Chinook Columbia River Reopens for April 13 and 14th
by Bill Monroe | For The Oregonian/OregonLive
Spring chinook anglers, hampered by poor weather, cold water and a flooding Willamette River, will get two more days to fish in the Columbia River up to Bonneville Dam for now.
Washington and Oregon biologists approved fishing Saturday and Sunday in the same area, and under the same rules, where fishing officially closed Wednesday evening.
Another meeting is scheduled for Tuesday to review the run, apparently delayed by adverse conditions.
The states also closed sturgeon retention fishing Friday evening in Bonneville Reservoir.
COLUMBIA RIVER, Warrior Rock to Bonneville Dam
From March 1 through April 10 and April 13-14, from the Warrior Rock line upstream to Beacon Rock (boat and bank) plus bank angling only from Beacon Rock upstream to the Bonneville Dam deadline, is open to retention of adipose fin-clipped Chinook, adipose fin-clipped steelhead, and shad.
