Fishing Report: Springer Success Apr 19th
Met my friend Todd at Willamette Park on Sunday about noon for a few hours of fishing. Given recent reports, I was only hoping for a relaxing boat ride. Shortly after starting, Todd’s rod doubles over, fish on! Unfortunately, just as quickly, fish off, we were both happy to have some action at least, and get the blood flowing. About thirty minutes later, his rod doubles again, and we put a nice springer in the box. We were using pro trolls and spinners, although most appeared to be using triangle flashers with cut plug herring.
Springers are definitely a challenge to catch, but very rewarding when it happens. The fish checker had seen less then ten fish when we docked about 1:30 p.m.
