Catch of the week

Saturday, October 15th was a very good day of fishing for a young man named Roman. He managed to catch this beautiful coho salmon on a non select day. My understanding is he wanted to use his own rod and reel, which was a spinning outfit, so that is what he used. Despite some complications, having the reel handle come loose, he managed to keep reeling following captain Chris’ instructions. Success, as they got the fish into the net. What a great day, and one that I am sure he will remember for years to come. This is why I fish, the experience, and getting to witness the joy on peoples faces when they catch a beautiful fish. It takes the beauty of the coast, the fish itself, and good friends to make a truly enjoyable day. Overcoming obstacles like tackle malfunctions make it all the more memorable. I can still remember several fish that I did not catch, lost them before netting them, and some of those are the best memories.
