Spring Chinook fishing in the Columbia River has been slow. A few spring Chinook are being caught in the Willamette River.
Trout fishing continues to be good in local lakes.
Steelheading in the Columbia and area tributaries is slow.
Fishing for warm water species is slow, although walleye fishing is improving.
This week extra-large brood trout will be released at several locations around the Willamette Valley, including Sheridan Pond, Cottage Grove Pond, Timber Linn Lake, Waverly Lake, Walling Pond and Walter Wirth Lake.

Best bets for fishing
Surf perch fishing has been hot along the Oregon Coast.
Spring Chinook fishing will close on the Columbia River after April 7, but the season will just be heating up on the Willamette, Rogue, Umpqua and Nestucca rivers, and in Tillamook Bay.
Spring trout fishing can be excellent!
