Fishing Report: Near shore ling cod very good...

Left Portland at 5:15 a.m. Friday March 30, 2018, with Chad, topped the boat off with non ethanol gas, and headed to Garibaldi.  Fished Three Arches, tough to find the fish early, but we got our 10, two limits, of black rock fish, then changed gear, literally, to 8 oz jig heads with very large curly tail grubs, got our four ling cod, released a few small ones, and headed back to the dock about 1:00 p.m.  Had to work for the fish, but, what a blast!  As you can see from the photo, the ocean was very calm, got to choose your days wisely, look at the forecasts.  Great day, great fishing, good company.  Springers are the rage, and I love that fishing, but the scenery and action on the ocean are sometimes too much for me to pass on.
