Fishing Report: Garibaldi, Ling Cod, Crab, Wolf Eels and Kelly the Blade...
June 29 was my birthday, celebrated by going to Garibaldi to fish for two days. Friday dropped three crap pots south of Tillamook Bay Entrance, went for a boat ride to Pacific City, fished with the dory fleet, got four lings with my fishing buddy Matthew, some canary rockfish, two wolf eels released unharmed, and 19 crab from our pots. Awesome day! Caught all ling cods on home made copper pipe jigs. I call it 7 11, because 7 inches of 1/2 pipe filled with lead is 11 ounces, nice balance. See the 4’ piece of octopus leg? it was hanging out of the Ling Cod's mouth when I caught it.
Day two, had my friends Jeff and Inna meet me at 5:30 a.m. Went back to Pacific City Area, managed 5 ling cods, lost some fish, and came back with 14 crabs from the 3 pots. Drove home in time to rest for work on Monday.
