Fishing Report: Oct 3rd and 4th Garibaldi final weekend push
On Saturday went bottom fishing at Three Arches, south of the entrance to Garibaldi, with Todd in his 19’ Arima. We managed to limit on our bottom fish, new limit of 7 per angler, but only managed one keeper lingcod, which Todd caught. It was not “hot” fishing, we had to move around and work to find fish. I did catch a very large yelloweye, descended it, had to put extra weight on the descender to get it to go down. Only thing I do not like about 3 Arches is it is very snaggy on the bottom. Tend to lose a lot of gear at this location. I intend to start broadening my horizons and looking for other areas/reefs to fish.
Sunday, fished with Todd again in his Arima. The bar was restricted, so we fished between the jaws, in between the north and south jetty, and in the Ghost Hole, I caught and released one native coho, the salmon fishing was slow. We did see some caught in the Ghost Hole, most anglers were using pro trolls and spinners, we tried both.
