Great weekend, good friends, the fishing was only fair, but the beauty of the coast never gets old. We also saw a whale right off the entrance to Garibaldi on the way in, that was really cool.

Salmonid angling on the Columbia River is currently open for Chinook jacks and steelhead from the Astoria-Megler Bridge upstream to Bonneville Dam. Also, adult summer Chinook may be kept until July 4.
The reports of slow, dismal crabbing, were unfortunately very accurate. We only got five keeper crab out of the three pots. Ended the day with a limit of ling cod and bottom fish………
I was not out fishing today, during the one day extension given anglers on the Columbia River. I did have several friends fishing though, and did receive some reports.
