Fishing Report: SundayApril 22

At long last, the turbidity in the Willamette came down to a fishable level Sunday.  I got to the ramp, Willamette Park, at sunrise, and proceeded to troll downriver.  It was sunny, but the wind made it chilly and somewhat challenging to troll.  I was fishing solo, with the two rod endorsement.  As I trolled toward downtown Portland, I saw a few fish caught.  At about 7:45 a.m. I watched my rod start bending, down, up, down, then, straight down, fish on!

I am sure some people were very entertained at the sight of me reeling up my second rod, getting it out of the way, and trying to net the fish by myself.  Took about four or five attempts before I was successful, just hoping that the hooks would not come out.  They did not, and spring chinook was on the dinner menu, delicious!  I quit fishing about 11:00 a.m. I did not see any action and the wind was really annoying.  Today the turbidity is continuing to go down, I cannot wait for the next trip!

Tackle used included the FishnSleep 18" Trolling Bumpers
